Loeriesfontein is a small town in the Northern Cape of South Africa. It falls within what is known as the Hantam region. (Part of the Boesmanland region) The town grew around a general store established in 1894 by a travelling bible salesman, named Fredrick Turner It lies in a basin surrounded by mountains and became a municipality in 1958. It has since lost that status and has been incorporated it into the Hantam Municipality. Main activities in the area include agriculture (sheep) and mining (salt). The region is known for its spring flowers (August and September) when thousands of visitors arrive to 'blommekyk' The largest and the most southerly colony of Aloe dichotoma, one of South Africa's giant aloes, occurs approximately 25km from Nieuwoudtville just of the tarred road to Loeriesfontein.

Take the N7 highway north from Cape Town, turn off onto the R27 at Van Rhynsdorp to Nieuwoudtville, then follow the R357 to Loeriesfontein (a further 65 km north).
