Mountain Mt Blutkuppe/Bloedkoppie (847m)

The Blutkuppe/Bloedkoppie got its name from the red veins in the rock, when the sunsets it glows and looks like a mountain of blood. The common Afrikaans word for this is 'Bloedkoppie'. It can be climbed but you should be careful as the granite is eroded due to extreme temperature differences but the view compensates for that. Around the blood hilltop there is several campsites but it has limited facilities like a mere toilet and no water or showers.
