The rainy season here is from March to May and September to November. This lodge can be reached by car or on foot. Note that about 100metres section of the road to the lodge can be very slippery in the rainy season. The nearest airport is the Kigali international airport, 3hours away. There are no shuttle or car rental services. The airport in Gisenyi is small and not often used by travellers. Prebooking at this lodge is preferred but not essential.

“More geared towards backpackers than overlanders. If you sleep in a rooftop tent, you will find yourself in the parking area at reception. Ground tent not a problem. Very good open air bar/restaurant. Ablutions are well maintained and of the best we have experienced.” -
