Travelling Information

ROAD CONDITIONS:
When driving from Xakanaxa you may not notice the detour bypassing the fallen tree leading to the new bridge, otherwise you will cross over the old bridge. The fallen tree is very big and one can see that it has been there for some time. It is not clear if the parks board will remove it. Parts of the detour road has a risk of seasonal flooding, so maybe when it becomes flooded they will remove the fallen tree. The water levels in Aug 2012 were very high so maybe the detour will become the road? (Jul-13).

“There is a new wooden bridge here. In Novemeber 2013 the water was low and one could cross here on dry ground, but July 2014 the water was high, so we had to use the bridge to cross the channel to and from 3rd Bridge and Xaxanaka.” - Mietsie Visser, 2014/07/31
