Noordhoek, an area of Cape Town, on the west coast of the Cape Peninsula, it is located just below Chapman's Peak. The name means 'North Corner' is comes from Dutch. It is well known for its spectacular shoreline with its long, wide, sandy beach and picture perfect scenery. The beach stretches all the way to the village Kommetjie. The wreck of the steamship 'Kakapo' is found at the southern end of the beach, which the captain ran aground when he mistook Chapman's Peak for the Cape of Good Hope. Noordhoek can be accessed either from Chapman's Peak Drive or via the mountain road Ou Kaapse Weg. Noordhoek is a small community with nice houses scattered, some with sea views. The town has a large horse population as this is a major attraction to go horse riding on the long sandy beach. There are also a lot of artists that live in Noordhoek.

There is a BP fuel stop in the town along Cnr of Cape Road & Buller-Louw Drive for fuel refill. (Jan-16).

There is a tourism office in the town. There is also a Post office at Longbeach Mall, for all the postal and financial services as well. (Jan-16).

HEALTH CARE:
There is no public hospital in the town but there is a private hospital the Longbeach Medical Centre, Tel: +27(0)21 785 3900. For a pharmacy in the suburb there is the Sunvalley pharmacy, Tel:+27(0)21 785 3470

POLICE:
The SAPS contact added for the main Police station in Noordhoek. (Jul-15).

MONEY:
There is an FNB and ABSA bank branches in the town and their ATM. There is also a Standard bank. (Jan-16).
