The Cape Winelands is a beautiful part of the Cape with rolling green fields, breathtaking mountains, and wine farms with rows of leafy vineyards. With fabulous towns like Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Montagu and Ceres filled with outdoor fun and culinary surprises it draws a lot of attention from locals and tourists alike. The Stellenbosch wine route is the oldest wine route in South Africa dating back to 1971. It is also the second oldest town after Cape Town. Visitors can look forward to picnics next to beautiful dams with ducks swimming about, picking strawberries on one of many strawberry farms, going on a wine tour or enjoying a delicious meal at one of the exquisite world class restaurants in Franschhoek or Cape Town. There are also a number of great Spa and Wellness centres, nature and game reserves, a lion park near Paarl and natural hot springs in Montagu.
