Voorhoede Eco-trail consists of two sections. At the foot of the mountain you'll find a 6km section that takes you through dongas and mud holes. For this section you need more than one vehicle and a winch is advisable. Escape routes are in place to bypass obstacles or to recover stuck vehicles. The mountain section is a scenic 9km circular route. The view from the top is spectacular. Only vehicles with low range allowed in mountain. Accommodation comes with a choice of three self-catering options and a campsite on the dam. Liza se Huisie: A self-catering, 4 sleeper cottage. All facilities are gas operated. Oil lamps are provided. Suited for a couple or a couple with 2 children. Park home - a self-catering, 6 sleeper on the dam. Blomhuis, a self--catering 6 sleeper house with electricity. Camping is available at the dam and in the Akkerbos with hot shower and flush toilets. braai (barbeque) facilities are also available. No electricity.(Information supplied by DriveOut Magazine).
