The Okapupa camp is situated on the banks of the Kunene River, 45km west of the Ruacana falls. In the shade of Jackalberry trees you can relax and enjoy the natural surroundings of the Kaokoveld. This is also the place of the Dorslandtrek memorial fest every 5 years. Simple but very well maintained. There are good communal ablution facilities, as well as a large thatched central bar and dining area available. The visitors should book in advance especially during peak season and when they are to visit in groups. But it is very quiet during off peak season.
It looks closed/deserted but someone will pop up and help you. As this is a community operated camp, it is not always possible to contact them. For camping we suggest that you just show up as the community will help you.
