Our rustic yet comfortable Hideout is remotely situated in stunning scenery, surrounded by dunes, vast gravel plains, and nestled in a belt of camel-thorn trees. Our eco-friendly house has a solar hot water system, solar lights, a solar-powered fridge, gas freezer and stove, and barbeque facilities. It is fully equipped for self-catering and can accommodate up to 10 people in 4 bedrooms.
The expansive veranda provides ample shaded space for alfresco dining and living. Bedding and towels are available as a cost option only. In 2010 and again in 2015 we added an exclusive campsite to our accommodation offerings.
Campsite Orion and Campsite Venus are each nestled into the dunes, out of sight and earshot of each other, with a waterhole for animals and birds. Here our guests are truly alone with nature but have modern camping facilities such as flush toilets and solar-heated hot showers. The views are stunning. Ample shade is provided for protection from the Namibian sun, and canvas roller blinds for wind protection.
Campsite Jupiter, opened as planned in March 2019, located in its own private dune valley, has the same facilities as the other two campsites, but in addition has an enlarged wooden deck with a roof and wind protection, charging station for all your devices, and has a drinking waterhole for animals. It is fully wheelchair accessible, with ramps and grab rails at the toilet and shower. Escape from the rat race – limited cellphone coverage and Wifi can be located only 5 kilometres away at the base camp in case of emergency.

Follow the signs to NaDEET after Maltahöhe, Sossusvlei or Betta and you can’t go wrong! Drive either west from Maltahöhe, north from Aus or south from Sesriem to the D826 or C27, then take the Tok Tokkie Trails/NaDEET/Family Hideout turn-off (400m. north of the intersection with the D827) and drive 11 km through 2 gates, turn left at the NaDEET parking and then pop in at our reception on the way to your facility to collect a map and further info.
