Petauke town is situated within the Western province of Zambia and is the capital for this province. The town is situated halfway between the capital city Lusaka and Malawian border and is dominated by the Nsenga people.

The backbone of the town economy is on agriculture with production of maize, cotton, sunflower, groundnut and soya beans. (2019).

AIRSTRIP:
Locals confirmed that the nearby airstrip is operational but rarely used. (2019).

FUEL:
There is the Puma fuel stop and Kobil fuel station in the town. (Feb-2019).

Hospital contact is for Petauke District Hospital. There is also the Petauke District Health Office, Tel: +260(0)21 637 1075. For pharmaceutical services there is the Ekada Pharmacy situated along ChaChaCha Road. There is also the Merry Hearts Pharmacy situated on Central Street, Petauke Shopping Complex. (Feb-2019).

There is a police station in town but could not obtain the telephone contact even from the hospital. (Feb-2019).
