Chililabombwe is situated within the Copperbelt province of Zambia and was previously known as Bancroft. The name Chililabombwe means 'where frogs croaks.' This city is 30km from Chingola and 12km from the longest river in Zambia, the Kafue River. The city is administered by a town clerk, have 20 wards and a single constituency. The town economy is depended on copper mining at the Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) and agriculture, farming of staple food such as maize and rearing livestock. Due to the high rainfall patterns experienced in this area, farming is rewarding. Currently the city do not have a tourist office and travellers can contact the Chililabombwe Municipal Council offices for any enquiries and information about the city.

Various restaurants and take aways are scattered around town

FUEL:
Fuel stop in town includes Total fuel stop open 24hrs daily, also provides Gas refill services in the city. There is also the Lake Petroleum Filling Station with petrol/diesel/gas supplies. Fuel also available at Puma, Caltex and Engen garage among others. (Jan-2019).

GAS REFILL:
Gas refill services offered at Total filling station which is also open 24 hrs, Tel: +260(0)96 657 3717. (Jan-2019).

EMERGENCY SERVICES & HEALTHCARE:
Hospital number is for Konkola Mine Hospital. There also local government clinics in the town, the Lubengele Clinic, Contact +260(0)96 954 8689 and also the former Kakoso Clinic has been upgraded into a hospital. Doctor contact added is for Dr Ambali. For pharmaceuticals services there is a Sibongile Pharmacy situated along Buntungwa Road and Afrogreen Pharmacy Limited situated along Cnr of Congo/ Tiyende Pamodzi Road. (Jan-2019).

Situated just off the main T3 highway is the Penguin Auto Spares for vehicle repairs and spares open from 08h00-18h00 daily; Tel: +260(0)96 692 6987. (Jan-2019).

POLICE:
Police station in Chililabombwe have no landline, detective cell : +260(0)96 833 7209. Visitors should note that detective on duty changes therefore may contact the the Municipal Council offices on +260(0)21 238 2945, who might assist you with a detective number who will be currently on duty on that station. SERVICES:
No tourist office in the city also contact the council offices. (Jan-2019).

SHOPS:
There is a Shoprite Food Store in town at the shopping mall. (Jan-2019).

TYRE REPAIRS:
For tyre repairs and fitment there is the Muslut - Kwik Fit Tyre Fitment Centre and Kazlyn Tyres Solutions situated just off Station Road open from 08h00-17h00 Mon-Sat except Sundays; Tel: +260(0)96 443 3603. (Jan-2019).
