Masvingo is the capital city of the Masvingo Province in Zimbabwe. This town is of historical and cultural significance as it is the home to the famous Great Zimbabwe Ruins from where the nations name was derived. The ruins are believed to have been the first dwelling place for the people of Zimbabwe where they built ruins using stones and mortar during the Stone age period. To date the ruins still stands as strong as before and have become one of city attraction and a place not to miss during visit to Zimbabwe. The town major source of income is through agriculture as most of the people in the area are rural, communal farmers.
