Located in the Bangweulu Wetlands. Set on the edge of the Chimbwe Plain woodlands, is the perfect base from which to go canoeing on the swamps.
This is a great self-drive camping, situated on the edge the floodplain with a great view over the wetlands. A building has now been erected here, with a toilet, shower and kitchen facilities (sink). There are private sites with braai/BBQ areas. Water is available for washing and firewood is provided. Local staff will bring water for showers.
Note that no fishing is allowed in Bangweulu Game Reserve. No need to book ahead, as its a campsite, and self-drives are accommodated. The staff is very helpful, they will assist with firewood too. Bring your own drinking water.
Camping fees are payable at the Bangweulu Wetlands Offices.
