Chiredzi is a medium town which offers a lot of facilities and various shops. The town is well known for sugar production. The name Chiredzi is a Shona name, when derived it means 'a place of line fishing'. The town is situated within the Masvingo province of Zimbabwe. Road infrastructure in this town have been well developed as a result of the sugar producing company as it have to be imported and exported to various destinations in and out of the country. This town attracts tourist because of the Gonarezhou National park, the second largest national park in Zimbabwe.
