Sango border control is between Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Sango border is on the Zimbabwean side while the Mozambican side there is the Chicualacuala border.
Sango border is more convenient when entering the Gonarezhou park or Kruger park via Pafuri. The road to the border post from Chiredzi town passes through the Gonarezhou National Park.
The operating times are between 06h00 -18h00 (GMT+2). The border post is still underdeveloped and quiet with about six vehicles passing per day. For more information the travellers can contact Chiredzi ZIMRA office as there is no direct landline at the border. Unlike other border boundaries marked by razor wires or electric fences, at this border a mere fence mark the boundary.
All visitors should have valid passport while those travelling with cars will have to pay insurance fee, carbon tax and road usage fee and should have the original registration papers and valid licence for the vehicle and an affidavit signed by the owner of the vehicle authorising the use of the vehicle across the border if it is being driven by someone who is not the owner.
Very easy border post. They have customs. You have to pay the sim visa in US dollar / rand / euro. They don’t accept bonds.

DOCUMENTATION & FEES:
Carbon tax fee quoted is for passenger's vehicle. (Variable with vehicle capacity & type. Insurance also depended on vehicle type & size. TIP is free. White and Red Reflective Tape, Warning Triangles and Fire Extinguisher are compulsory for each vehicle travelling to Zimbabwe. (Updated Feb 14). Does not accept South African car insurance unless if bought through the AA. (2014).

Facilities in Sango is a small village & settlement, single office block, police post and camping tents.
TRAVELING WITH A MINOR:
Advice on travelling with minors, you will need a valid passport, valid visa if required, an Unabridged Birth Certificate with both parents’ names on and an affidavit from the other parent or both should the minor be travelling with one parent or with other family.
This border post between Mozambique and Zimbabwe is the ideal crossing for overlanders who want to combine a trip to Kruger NP in SA with Gonarezhou NP in Zimbabwe. Travellers would exit SA at the Pafuri border post in the far north of the park and drive 61km through a remote part of Mozambique (crossing both the Limpopo and Nuanetsi Rivers) to reach Chiqualaquala border post. This route varies between thick sand and good gravel and could be problematic during the wet season. It is possible to traverse this route between Kruger and Gonarezhou within one day (border crossings included).
