Bokspits Border Control has been commissioned and is now operational, have barracks which are fenced and an entrance/exit gate. The Bokspits border is now close to the Gemsbok border of South Africa. Immigration used to be handled by the Bokspits Police Station a few km away from the SA border in Bokspits town. Bokspits is the Botswana border with South Africa (Gemsbok). The road network to the border post has been improved as well. There is an airstrip close to the border. For more information contact the border post or still the Police station will also gladly assist with information regarding the border post as they used to handle the immigration process. Foot and Mouth check done on entry and disinfecting of shoes.

When you enter Botswana at Bokspits from SA. There is an immigration officer but no customs or road authority people.
Botswana police may later in Botswana stop you, and would check your passport for port of entry stamp and if this service (customs, road authority) was not available at that port of entry then you would not have to show it. (2013).
