Waxhu as passionately called by the local people means 'house of god'. Waxhu Sinkhole Campsite is a bush camp situated near the main entrance to the Waxhu caves.

There are sufficiently few visitors that you are likely to see and no facilities, so campers need to bring sufficient food stuff and water as there is no water here and the nearest drinkable borehole water are available in the villages of Xai Xai, 12km away and Gcangwa, 33km away. Campers should take away all their rubbish or at least everything that cannot be burned and reduced to ash. Use bush toilets and always bury your waste.

This area is remote and isolated and is only advisable to those experienced and well equipped bush travellers otherwise make use of tour operators. This area is reachable by a well equipped 4x4 vehicle with an option to travel on the Northern route or the Southern route. Two access route. One from Maun/Shakawe at Nokaneng while the other turns west at Tsau and follows the Gcwihaba Caverns (Drotsky's Cave) route.
