Clarens is a small Free State village, very tourist orientated with numerous art & craft galleries, restaurants, bars and coffee shops, and a local craft beer brewery. Situated 20 km from Gold Gate National, there are plenty of walks in the area. There is lots of soft adventure ranging from abseiling to horse riding, trout fishing to river rafting. Mountain bike trails are also very popular with grades to suite all levels of experience. Plenty of accommodation available from commercial hotels to owner run guest house, from B&B's to backpacker lodges and everything in between.
