Umhlanga rocks is a resort town North of Durban and a satellite city of the Ethekwini Municipality within the Kwa-Zulu Natal province of South Africa. Umhlanga faces the warm waters of the Indian Ocean with stretching beaches and coastline best for Scuba diving and snorkeling and it is great surfing spot in summer. The name 'Umhlanga' means 'place of reeds' in the Zulu language. The towns have a well developed transport system, only 20km from the King Shaka airport. The town is also easily accessed from the N2 Highway or M4 Coastal Freeway. Umhlanga started as a resort village and has grown into an up market city offering all the facilities a city has to offer, but retains much of its relaxed, openly hospitable holiday character.
