Irente Viewpoint is situated at the edge of the Western Usambara Mountains, considered to be a biodiversity hotspot due to the high variety of endemic fauna and flora found in the area. From a height of almost 1000 meters, the viewpoint offers a fantastic panoramic view over Mazinde village and the Maasai Plains, from which the Usambaras Mountain Range rise almost vertically. The viewpoint can be reached by car, or is an easy walk (8km) from the vibrant Lushoto village. Enjoy a drink in the gardens of the adjacent Irente Cliff Lodge, or an excellent farm-fresh meal at the nearby Irente Biodiversity Reserve.
