The Mikumi National Park is located 283km west of Dar es Salaam, north of Selous, and en-route to Ruaha, Udzungwa and Katavi. It is the fourth largest National Park in the country and covers an area of 3230 kmĀ². The national park is near Morogoro, Tanzania and was established in 1964. The park is the nineth largest National Park in Tanzania. There is no camping at the lodges in the park, the park has its own campsites.

ACCESSIBILITY:
By road: Self-drive or local transport from Dar es Salaam.
By air: Charter flights from Dar es Salaam, Arusha or Selous.
ROADS:
The A7 road, passes right through the Mikumi National Park, which is not fenced and animals, especially buffalo's, feed on the grass next to the road. Drive extremely carefully as there are also several huge humps in the road, as is the case throughout Tanzania. (Feb-13).
