Ruaha National Park situated in central Tanzania and is the largest national park in Tanzania. The Park was increased in size when Usangu Game Reserve was added to the Park increasing the size to about 20,226 square kilometres. The park is located about 130 kilometres west of Iringa. The name of the park was derived from the Great Ruaha River flowing along the South Eastern borders. Some of the wildlife includes lion, leopard, cheetah, jackal, hyena and the rare and endangered African wild dog. (Updated July-2015)
