Langstrand is a beach resort located between the two coastal towns of Walvis Bay and Swakopmund. The name is Afrikaans for 'Long Beach' and you’ll find that some people refer to it by this English translation. This venue achieved some fame for hosting Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt when Jolie was at the end of her pregnancy with Shiloh.

Langstrand is not a town, but a holiday resort with a kiosk, bar and restaurant which is only open in high season. The fuelstop also has a Bon Jour convenience store and a car wash. There is a variety of accommodation, from luxury type to chalets and camping. We would recommend however, that you rather camp in Walvis Bay or Swakopmund.

FUEL:
Take note: Garage or Petrol cards will no longer be accepted as a legal tender for purchase of fuel, spares or repairs in Namibia.
Cash, Debit and Credit cards are legal payment instruments, but many fuel stations choose NOT to accept Debit and/or Credit cards. But generally credit cards are accepted at garages in bigger and touristy towns. Take extra cash with still in case!

SHOPS & SERVICES:
While very little happens in Langstrand during the off-season, it’s located opposite the Walvisbay dune belt, home to Daredevil Adventures who organise quad bike trips into the dunes.
