Nungwi is a large fishermen's village and tourist attraction located in the far northern end of the island of Zanzibar. It is the second largest settlement on the island, after Stone Town. Nungwi is a Dhow-Building centre, and one of the islands major tourist destinations. Most facilities, such as banks, beau de change, post office, travel agents, police stations, supermarkets, hospitals, restaurants, bars etc, are only available in the capital city, but are scarce on the rest of the Island. Accommodation in Nungwi Village ranges from large resorts through to small guesthouses of self-catering villas. (Sep-15)
