The Hluhluwe-uMfolozi Park lies in the heart of old Zululand and is rich in history dating back to the early Iron Age and the hey-day of the Zulu Kingdom of King Shaka.

Hilltop Camp is the only one in the Hluhluwe uMfolozi Park that has a restaurant, the camp is located in the northern Hluhluwe sector of the park. Hilltop Camp has both self-catering and non self-catering Chalets. All accommodation booked at Hilltop Camp is now on a Bed and Breakfast or Dinner, Bed & Breakfast basis, with the option to take a package that includes dinner and or a guided game drive in Hilltop's open game drive vehicles. Alternatively one drives oneself on the public road network.

Conservation levy is payable at Hilltop Camp reception. You will need to present your booking reservation reference number at the entrance gate to the Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park. An exit permit will be issued at Hilltop Camp reception on departure, you will need to show this at the gate on exiting. There is no backup generator during loadshedding and no additional lighting is supplied. We suggest you bring your own backup lighting. No pets of any kind are permitted in the reserve. 15 amp plug points are available. Unleaded petrol, diesel and oil may be purchased at the resort between 07:00 -18:00.
