Addo Elephant National Park, on the banks of the Sundays River about 70 Km north of Port Elizabeth, is 145 000ha. The Park was proclaimed in 1931, and is home to an African Elephant population over 450. This malaria free park is famous for being the only park in Africa which hosts the Big 7 that is : Elephant, lion, buffalo, rhino, leopard, the Southern Right Whale and the Great White Shark. The Addo Elephant is smaller than the usual African giants but belongs to the same species. There are no motorcycles allowed in the National park because of dangerous wildlife.

FOOD:
There is a restaurant located on the Addo National Elephant Park adjacent to the reception building.

FUEL:
Vehicle fuel is available in the park, at the main camp.

GATES:
Gates to the game areas are open and closed according to season, inquire at the reception when checking in. Entrance to the main entrance gate and Matyholweni gate provide access to only the park camps and not to the game areas. Security guards are always at the gates. Visitors with accommodation bookings can still enter till 22h00, after that all gates are closed till morning. Always inform the reception area when arriving late.

POLICE:

SHOPS:
Basic food, meat, wine etc. can be purchased at the shop.

TRANSPORT:
The main entrance road to the park is tarred. As for the rest of the park. Some roads are tarred and some have gravel, with gravel roads sometimes inaccessible during wet weather.
