Mountain Pass Old Anenous Pass

The Old Anenous pass was built in the 1800's, and ran parallel to the narrow-gauge railway line that transported copper from the mining towns of Nababeep and Okiep via Steinkopf to Port Nolloth. Stone buttresses that were used to support the viaduct for the line can still be seen along the pass. The new, tarred Anenous Pass was completed in 1979 and runs above the old pass.
