Camping Camelthorn Farmstead Campsite

ID: w630605 View large map

Located in Botswana :: Makgadikgadi
Category: Camping :: Camping

Booking

The campsites have plenty Camelthorn trees that provide enough shade and a lovely view on the Makgadikgadi National Park.

There are 5 campsites with a shared ablution block. The ablution is newly built with hot water (gas geyser) and extremely nice. The campsites also have fire pits (wood is supplied free of charge at the campsites).

Maun is the nearest town for supplies 140km from us. Fuel is available at Rakops 80km away.

No need for pre booking, but phone to check availability.

There is no shop, but ice can be purchased. We are biker unfriendly due to the sand being too thick for road bikes. No credit card facilities at the moment. For the moment there are no electrical points at the campsite but the ablutions have got electrical lights.

Overland trucks / big rigs are welcome but they need to contact us so that we can help them with a less sandy road.

“Do you want to be at the heart of nature, in a great place with perfect service, full kindness and quality setup ? it's there. Perfect Tents with great food and full availability of staff and Owners. Very well located campsite and animals everywhere around on the Boteti. And the best is that the owner's are doing it right, not only farming and running their lodge but also being a great help to the nearby park and it's animals. I highly recommand” - [email protected] , 2023/11/28

“This is a stunning campsite on the Boteti River. Large stands, each with own ablution, kitchen and a verandah.There are also fully equiped tents each with their own bathroom and a separate kitchen on a large lawned area under magnificent Camelthorn trees. There is a beautiful braai area for guests as well as a waterhole opposite the park, where elephants, large number of zebras and other game come to drink. The owners, Theo and Marni Snyman, have created a magical place here !” - Mietsie Visser, 2023/10/26
