Graafwater is situated within the Cederberg region of Western Cape just 35km from Clanwilliam and 300km from Cape Town. The name is Afrikaans and in English it means 'water from a spade.' The town is a great place for hikers, botanists and a birdwatchers paradise and its economy is based on agriculture and the few infrastructure part of the town includes a library, police station, clinic, primary and secondary school. For more information about the town, the visitors need to contact Lamberts bay Tourism Bureau which is open Mon-Fri between 09h00-17h00 and Saturday between 09h00-12h00.
