The Chinhoyi Caves make up some of the most extensive cave systems in Zimbabwe. They were designated a National Park in 1955. The Site is a rare natural Karst system composed of limestone, dolomite, and a pool of cobalt blue water which is so clear that silver-hued fish and underwater rock formations are seen many meters below the surface. Descending down visitors can view the cobalt-blue pool which is called the Sleeping Pool or Chirorodzira (Pool of the Fallen) which descends to a depth of 90m. Diving is very popular in these caves. Guests can only stay on campsites and there are picnic sites with three ablution blocks with hot and cold water, baths, toilets, and showers.
